What made you decide to get involved in OFH?

Jono and I have been looking for our own first home for eight to nine months and haven’t been able to get anything. We saw this as an opportunity to learn how to DIY for our future and potentially make some extra cash to boost our deposit.

What are you the most excited about?

Learning and gaining experience in DIY. Working with my family to transform a house.

What are you most nervous about?

Looking like a dick on TV.

What is the best thing about your teammates?

They are my most loved ones. We all have the same goals and they all know how to deal with my moods.

What is the most annoying thing about your teammates?

All of us sometimes have problems making quick decisions.

Who in your family do you think is going to find this challenge the hardest and why?

Mum – because she won’t have time to do her hair and makeup.

What is the most ambitious piece of DIY you have ever done?

Bedside Tables - stripped, varnished, sanded and painted.

Describe your DIY style?

“Call on Dad”

What do you think is your secret weapon in this competition?

DAD!

Do you have any DIY nightmare memories from your childhoods?

None.

Every parent makes sacrifices for their children, what’s one yours have made for you?

My parents are forever making sacrifices. From weekend sport, to weekends away for dancing comps, and even arriving to Whangarei every weekend for three months for dance training! And of course now this huge sacrifice of giving up  two months of work to help us with this show.

Which task(s) of the renovation do you think you will excel in?

The technology using. All the research and computer work that needs to be done as mum and dad aren’t huge into using them.

Which task(s) of the renovation are you most worried about?

The week-to-week deadlines.

What is the defining quality that you bring to the renovation?

Hopefully the overall design of interior and exterior. Colours and textures.
