The Pearce Family have taken on their first challenge head on - diving straight into creating a chill out zone.
Opting for an area that offers calm and tranquility the Pearce family designed a space to escape to.
This tiny house is not without its handy additions - a fold away bed with a storage unit has been purpose built to fit the area.
Whilst the white exterior selected for the tiny house was criticised for being a bit on the dull side it was noted that it was a wise choice for the family that do not yet have a property to install it in. The white colour can act as a base paint to be coloured over at a later date to match their property.
Taking a bolder step inside, the feature floor in the Pearce families tiny house was inspired by the sea god, Tangaroa, so Atareta has painted it bright blue to reflect the ocean.
Unfortunately small spaces expert and environmentalist, Bryce Langston, had concerns that this floor colour would wear down quickly and encourage people to focus downward, which he advises is undesirable in a small space as the trick with enclosed areas is to focus the eyes upwards.
